Fire in a bar in the Russian city of Kostroma, 15 dead

A fire on Saturday killed at least 15 people in a bar in the Russian city of Kostroma.

The fire during the night in the well-known bar could have started after a drunken man fired a “flare gun” on the dance floor.

Authorities said the fire started around 2:00 a.m. local time and was extinguished around 7:30 a.m.

Governor Sergei Sitnikov said earlier that 13 people had been killed, but emergency services later said the remains of two more people had been found.

“Two more bodies were found. This means that the number of victims is now 15”.

About 250 people were evacuated from the building when it caught fire in the city about 300 kilometers (180 miles) northeast of Moscow, authorities said earlier.
