After rumors that Faker might leave the T1 team for an American team, this has now been denied as Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has signed a new contract with T1.
Faker has been a member of T1 since 2013, when the team was still known as SK Telecom T1, and is recognized as the best player of all time in League of Legends.
The announcement of a contract extension with T1 ends the uncertainty surrounding Faker’s future, after rumors that he was considering opportunities at other teams, including Team Liquid and FlyQuest were apparently among the teams interested in signing the Korean.
After losing the World Final to DRX in a five-map match, Faker and T1 will try to reclaim the global crown in 2023.
This is the current T1 roster for the 2023 season:
Choi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je
Moon ‘Owner’ Hyeon-joon
Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok
Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyeong
Ryu ‘Keria’ Min-seok
