Apple’s XR headphones will go into mass production by March 2023.
Chinese contract manufacturer Pegatron is expected to be the main supplier of the device, foreign media reported.
Apple is believed to launch its XR headphones at an event in April 2023, as the initial supply will be very limited.
The report specifies that the initial supply for Apple XR headphones in the first year will be somewhere between 700,000 and 800,000 units, which is lower than previous estimates of 2.5 million units.
The lower supply values won’t make the XR headset as profitable for suppliers, though Pegatron and others will fill these orders so they can better position themselves for future AR/VR products down the line .
