The United States will send more ammunition and military vehicles to Ukraine as part of a new $725 million package.
That will bring total US security aid since Russia invaded Ukraine in February to more than $17.5 billion.
The latest package includes high-velocity anti-radiation missiles (HARMs) and precision-guided artillery, as well as medical supplies, the US Department of Defense said in a statement.
The support is believed to bolster Ukraine’s ability to defeat Russia in a counteroffensive that has made major territorial gains in recent weeks.
Separately, Ukraine expects the US and Germany to deliver sophisticated anti-aircraft systems this month to help it counter attacks by Russian missiles and kamikaze drones, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said on Friday.
The Presidential Recall Authority (PDA) gave permission for them to be sent in the coming days to Ukraine.
It allows the United States to transfer defense items and services from stockpiles quickly without congressional approval in response to an emergency.
