The US helps Ukraine twice as much as EU countries

The United States of America is mostly helping the Ukrainian state in the fight against the Russian invader.

The Belgian MEP, Guy Verhofstadt, has published some statistics on social networks, as it is clearly seen that the USA has helped Ukraine in financial, military and humanitarian terms.

“Europe’s inefficiency in this crisis continues to blow my mind. The US gives twice as much support to the Ukrainians as the EU member states put together,” he wrote on Twitter.

Europe is slow with promises, but even slower to fulfill them, the Belgian added.

“Compared to what we see coming from Moscow, this is political amateurism and geopolitical madness,” the MEP claimed.

Meanwhile, the G7 states have promised to help Ukraine even further after the resumption of Russian attacks.

The G7 consists of the seven largest “advanced” economies. It includes Canada, France, Italy, Germany, Japan, Great Britain and the USA.

China is not included as it is not considered an advanced economy in the way that other countries are. Russia was part of the group but was expelled after annexing Crimea in 2014.
