Erik ten Hag has warned every Manchester United player after the 6-3 defeat in the derby with Manchester City.
The Red Devils ended the first half with a 4-0 loss, until in the second they started to improve, scoring three goals (Antony and Anthony Martial with two).
Ten Hag has said that this performance by his players is unacceptable and that there will be measures against them from tomorrow.
“I’m surprised by how we behaved on the field, I’ve seen another team, spirit and I don’t look convinced. I have to talk to my players and find out why,” said the Dutchman after the match.
“I will show the team tomorrow that we could be ahead. In the first goal, we won the ball and could have created a chance and given it away. This is unacceptable.”
“There are also positives, but at the moment I can’t think like that. We let the fans down, we let ourselves down and I’m extremely disappointed. We have to live with this and learn from it.”
“All credit to Man City, but it’s nothing to do with City, our performance was not good. As individuals, they (United’s players) were not convincing and did not rely on each other. Lack of fight and spirit in the team”.
“If you don’t fight – which we didn’t – you will have a problem against Manchester City. That’s different to Brentford, that day we didn’t run. Today we wanted to run, but there was a lack of confidence”.
“In the first half, we changed things and changed our attitude. We saw a different United after half-time and we scored goals, created a few more. We were braver on the ball, we came into the opponent’s half and we scored three goals”, added Ten Hag.
