Steve Bannon is punished, but Donald Trump?

Donald Trump

Steve Bannon, former President Donald Trump’s right-hand man, has been sentenced to 4 months in prison after refusing to cooperate with the committee investigating the January 6, 2021 attacks. He was also fined $65,000.

Arriving at the federal courthouse in Washington, Bannon was greeted by protesters chanting “Traitor. Fascist!”

It is assumed that his legal team will appeal the sentence, which will impose a suspended prison sentence.

Bannon was convicted of two counts of contempt of Congress: one for refusing to testify and one for refusing to produce documents.

Now it’s former President Trump’s turn to testify.

The Committee of the House of Representatives has asked the tycoon to submit documents and testify before it on November 4.

While Trump must appear to testify around November 14.

If the former president does not comply with the commission’s request, criminal charges may be brought against him.
