Netflix definitely plans to get more serious into the world of gaming and move beyond relying on third-party developers, and the fact that it’s creating its own game studio is an indication.
The studio is located in Helsinki, Finland and the plan is to develop original world-class games without ads or offers to buy.
Netflix’s entry into the world of gaming included the acquisition of several developers, including Night School Studio, the creator of Oxenfree.
In the past 12 months, the company has delivered some very good titles including Into the Breach and Poinpy, but has yet to land a developer.
However, the fruits of the new studio’s work will be “years” away. Meanwhile, the Desta game developed by the UsTwo studio exclusively for Netflix appeared.
