Microsoft Office has been a big name in the productivity market for decades, but the Redmond-based giant has decided to give it a new name.
Soon, the Microsoft Office suite will be renamed as “Microsoft 365”.
Microsoft made the announcement about the name change on the Microsoft 365 website.
The announcement contains a helpful FAQ that answers many questions about this change.
Microsoft states that they plan to make this change sometime in November of this year, so it won’t be long before Office gets its makeover.
In the announcement made, Microsoft was quick to add that this does not mean that the suite of applications including Word, PowerPaint, Excel and other applications will go away.
The company actually just wants to bring Office under its Microsoft 365 umbrella.
The name change also won’t prevent you from purchasing and downloading your existing Office 2021 suite.
