A freight train in Ilovaisk of Russian-occupied Donetsk was hit by a “powerful explosion” this morning local time.
This was announced by the adviser of the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andrushenko, who also gave the first details.
“Not only Crimea. Not just fuel tanks. A freight train was also hit in Ilovaisk. Locals report a fairly powerful explosion during the night. “The occupiers now have big problems with supply from both sides,” Andrushenko said.
He was referring to today’s explosion at the Crimean bridge connecting Russia’s Krasnodar region with Russia’s annexed Crimean peninsula.
Pro-Russian authorities in the self-proclaimed Donetsk republic confirmed the incident, releasing a video showing the aftermath of the fire at the local train station.
Otherwise, it is not yet known if there were any victims from the explosion.
