A group of people drag a woman off a bus in Washington

Metrobus

An attack caught on camera shows what appear to be several juveniles and possibly several adults pushing a woman off a Metrobus in Washington, D.C.

In the video – which has been censored for continuous profanity – a group can be heard berating a red-haired woman for almost a minute as she stands near the back door of the bus.

After telling the lady to “get off the bus” several times, the video shows that the driver stops, opens the doors and begins to forcefully remove her.

“In the future I would just hope that Metro, I think, would find some kind of way to prevent this from happening to anybody in the future,” said victim Kyla Thurston. She said she gave up her seat to a woman with small children as soon as they boarded the bus.

“After that, the children cursed,” she said. “I said, ‘You know, can you stop all the foul language?'” At that point, she said, the “kids” became unruly and disrespectful as they threw things at her.

The parent who recorded the incident does not want to be identified out of concern for her safety. She said people threw bottles at Thurston, pushed her and some even put their hands around her neck, choking her as they pushed her off the bus.
