Ukraine captain Andriy Yarmolenko has made a statement ahead of Scotland’s 3-0 defeat in the Nations League match between Ukraine and Ukraine.
The Ukrainian footballer called for getting tough with Russia and its athletes, calling Russia a country of terrorists.
“My opinion is quite simple. Russian football and Russian sports in general should be isolated.”
“It is a country of terrorists, a country that kills Ukrainians, our children.”
“Sport cannot be separated from all history. “All Ukrainian players want Russia to be punished at all levels,” said Yarmolenko.
With this, Yarmolenko supported UEFA’s decision to exclude Russia from qualifying for the 2024 European Championship.
