The Foreign Office of Great Britain, Lizz Trus, has declared that she will start with urgent steps in the first week she comes to power – to deal with the high prices of electricity – thus increasing production capacities.
She made this promise if British citizens give her the confidence to become the country’s prime minister, at a time when Johnson is enjoying his last day as prime minister of Britain.
The ruling Conservative Party is expected to nominate Truss as their leader for UK prime minister at a time when the country is expected to face recession, double-digit inflation and industrial problems.
It is a long list of many challenges that await the next leader who will replace Boris Johnson. Truss has said he will be focused on solving the economy’s problems, reiterating his promise to significantly reduce the list of problems facing this country.
In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph, she said she understands how deep the crisis is and the high cost of living for Britons – promising to take decisive action to ensure a better life for them families and companies to survive the much talked about winter.
“If I am elected, I plan that in the first week of my administration I will define emergency steps regarding energy bills and energy supply,” she added.
Finance ministry sources have said the cost of the Truss plan could exceed £100 billion ($115 billion), with most of it covered by the government.
Truss has refused to give details – saying it is not right to go into her precise strategy before she takes office. He did not even comment on the figure of 100 billion pounds
