The death toll has reportedly risen following an attack on the outskirts of Zaporizhia this morning.

It was earlier reported that 26 people had been killed, but Ukrainian authorities say that number has now risen to at least 30.

The Russian strike hit a convoy of civilian vehicles as they prepared to enter Russian-controlled territory to visit relatives and deliver supplies.

“The enemy started this day with a deliberate and absolutely calculated killing of Ukrainians … the Russian military knew where their missiles would hit,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said as he gave the latest casualty figures.

“This was done by non-humans … they will answer to the law without fail”
