An earthquake with a destructive power of 6.8 on the Richter scale hit China today – namely Sichuan, which is considered the most powerful earthquake to hit this region since 2017, where at least seven people lost their lives as a result and the tremors were also felt in other cities of the province.
Several roads and houses near the epicenter have been destroyed by landslides, while traffic has been blocked in at least one region.
So far there are no reports of dams or hydropower plants being destroyed – while communication has been disrupted in some regions.
Earthquakes are common in Sichuan, as the terrain is mountainous and landslides are often the result of earthquakes.
On the other hand, numerous videos have been published that show the creepy moment when everything was shaking.
