Russia moves submarines of the Black Sea fleet – Ministry of Defense
The British Ministry of Defense has released its intelligence update on the situation on the ground in Ukraine.
So it says the Russian Black Sea Fleet has moved some of its submarines from the port of Sevastopol in Crimea to Novorossiysk in Krasnodor Krai, southern Russia.
The shift likely occurred due to the recent change in the “local security threat level” in the face of Ukraine’s increased long-range strike capability.
“In the last two months, the headquarters of the fleet and its main naval aviation airport have been attacked”, the Ministry of Defense added.
Otherwise, the Ukrainian army launched a counter-offensive at the beginning of September, to regain control of the territories occupied by Russian forces, since the start of the war at the end of February.
The Ukrainian army claims to have gained control of over 8,000 square kilometers in the Kharkiv region since the launch of the counteroffensive.
However, the Russian military has said that its troops have withdrawn from Kharkiv to regroup.
