Russia’s top logistics general, Dmitry Bulgakov, has been replaced after Ukrainian military successes exposed logistical flaws in the Russian military.
“Army General Dmitry Bulgakov was relieved of his post as Deputy Minister of Defense and replaced by Colonel General Mikhail Mizhintsev Responsible for the material and technical supply of the armed forces,” the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.
Mizintsev, 60, is under UK sanctions for his role in the Mariupol siege in May this year.
The public servant’s change comes after President Vladimir Putin announced this week that he was mobilizing hundreds of thousands of Russians to give new impetus to his offensive in Ukraine.
