Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he wants the war in Ukraine to end “as soon as possible”.
He made this comment on the sidelines of a summit in Uzbekistan, during talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“I know that today’s era is not an era of war and I have spoken to you on the phone about that,” Modi told the Russian leader, adding that now was not the time for conflict with concerns about food security, fertilizer and fuel.
Putin said he understood the Indian prime minister’s concerns about the conflict in Ukraine.
“I know about your position regarding the conflict in Ukraine and I am aware of your concerns. We want all this to end as soon as possible,” he said.
