Five British nationals are among the prisoners of war released by Russia.
10 foreign prisoners who were held in Ukraine have been released after the mediation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to the Saudi foreign ministry, and Prime Minister Liz Truss revealed that five Britons are among those freed.
Truss tweeted: “Extremely welcome news that five British nationals held by Russian-backed proxies in eastern Ukraine are returning safely, ending months of uncertainty and suffering for them and their families.”
She thanked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Saudi Arabia for their efforts to secure their release.
