An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale was registered this morning in the sea near the Greek island of Crete, the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory in Athens announced.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 30 kilometers south-southeast of Zakros, in the prefecture of Lasithi, reports Kathimerini.
The earthquake was felt in many areas of eastern Crete, but also in Heraklion. So far there is no damage information.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale was recorded this morning also in Thessaly and the epicenter was 13 kilometers southwest of Tirnavos.
Otherwise, Greece has experienced successive earthquakes in recent days, but there have been no casualties or material damage.
