At least two people were killed and 11 injured after a suicide bomber detonated explosives near the entrance to the Russian embassy in Kabul.
Thus, according to what foreign media reports, the police said that the attacker was shot dead by armed guards as he was approaching the gate.
There is no information yet available on any deaths or injuries to Russian embassy personnel.
Russia is one of the few countries to have maintained an embassy in Kabul since the Taliban overran the country more than a year ago.
Although Moscow does not officially recognize the Taliban government, it has been in talks with officials about an agreement to supply gasoline and other goods.
