In Berdiansk, an occupied coastal city in southeastern Ukraine, the car of separatist leader Artem Bardin exploded.
After the explosion of the car, there were shots. Bardin was hospitalized in serious condition, the separatists announced.
The separatist and pro-Russian administration of Berdiansk clarified that three civilian vehicles were also damaged in the blast.
The separatist administration called the incident a terrorist attack and vowed retaliation.
The Russian army occupied the Azov part of the Zaporizhzhya region and the entire Kherson region, as well as the cities of Kherson, Melitopol and Berdyansk.
Pro-Russian administrations were formed in both regions, their representatives announced plans to hold a referendum on union with Russia.
