Two more US military planes carrying tons of aid for Pakistanis affected by floods caused by deadly monsoon rains have landed in the southern province of Sindh.
Civil Aviation Authority spokesman Saif Ullah said each plane was loaded with about 35 tonnes of humanitarian aid to be distributed in the province by the World Food Programme.
Ullah emphasizes that the American operation, which began on Thursday, will continue until September 16. Pakistan was hit by unusually heavy monsoon rains.
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has repeatedly called on the international community to send aid to Pakistan.
Nearly 1,400 people have been killed, 13,000 injured and millions left homeless in the massive floods since mid-June.
The flood also destroyed road and communication infrastructure, and miles of cotton and sugarcane, banana orchards and vegetable fields were submerged.
