Zelensky: We must fight for victory

Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on his compatriots to unite and fight on the eve of Independence Day, when it will be six months since the beginning of the Russian occupation in this country.

“We have to fight for Ukraine’s victory, we still have a lot of work to do, we have to be united,” added Zelensky in his latest video, with which he addresses the Ukrainian nation.

Ukraine celebrates Independence Day next week – namely on August 24 – and this date also marks six months since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Zelensky has warned that Russian forces could use that day to carry out brutal attacks. “That’s our enemy,” Zelensky added – stressing that Russian terror in Kharkiv and Donbas has not stopped.

He ordered that he expects visits from Ukraine’s partners in the coming days – admitting that “the war has changed everything for Ukraine, Europe and the rest of the world”.

According to him, Russia’s goal is to humiliate Ukraine, spreading fear and conflict – so, according to him, they should not kneel down and show their weak points.
