Russia saw a 22% drop in laptop sales in July compared to the same month last year.
This happened amid the departure of Western brands due to the war in Ukraine and a slowdown in economic development.
A total of 222,000 laptops worth 13.1 billion rubles ($217 million) were sold in Russia in July, it was reported on Thursday citing an unnamed source in the consumer electronics industry.
While sales of laptops made by Western manufacturers fell, figures reported by Kommersant showed that, at the same time, Chinese companies were increasing their market share.
Russian consumer electronics giant MTS recorded Chinese brands Honor and Huawei doubling their market share last month.
US laptop sales will continue to decline in Russia in the short term and will be replaced by Chinese and Russian brands, IT industry experts are quoted as saying.
