Ivan Fedorov, mayor of Melitopol, posted on Telegram that a powerful explosion was heard in the northeastern part of the Ukrainian city.
“We are eagerly awaiting any good news about the loss of the Russians,” he added in his post.
This city that lies in east of the Dnipro River and northeast of the Crimean peninsula – has been occupied by the Russians since the beginning of the occupation.
The claims of an explosion in Russian-controlled territory come days after a series of explosions were heard at a Russian military base on the Crimean peninsula.
On the other hand, the Russian authorities have denied the claims that the explosions at the military base were caused by the attacks of the Ukrainian army.
They even tried to make propaganda like the Moscow – saying it was the ammunition depot that caught fire.
They tried to “sell” this variant to Moscow, but in the end, the footage showed how the Russian warship was sunk by a Ukrainian missile.
