Armed attack in Jerusalem, bus is shot with guns

Jerusalem

In an armed attack in the early hours of this morning in the Old City of Jerusalem, eight Israelis were injured, including two who are in serious condition, a hospital in Israel announced.

The attacker has been handed over to the police, but no details have been given about his identity, however it is believed that the attack was carried out by a Palestinian.

He fired a gun at the bus that was stopped in a parking lot near the Wailing Wall, which is considered one of the most sacred places where Jews pray.

The Israeli police have announced that they have sent numerous police forces to the place where the crime took place, while many of them have entered the nearest neighborhood inhabited by Palestinians to search for the attacker, who surrendered a few moments later.

A pregnant woman is in serious condition with injuries to her abdomen, while a man was shot in the head.

The armed attack took place a week after the end of three days of violence between Israel and Palestinian extremists in the Gaza Strip.
