A man is dead and a woman is in hospital after a shooting at a shopping mall in Sweden, police say.
People at the Emporia shopping center in the southern city of Malmo fled in panic after hearing about 20 gunshots. Police have arrested a teenager and believe the shootings are related to gang tensions.
It comes as Sweden prepares for a general election next month, where gang violence is at the top of voters’ concerns. Sweden still has one of the highest gun homicide rates in Europe.
An official Swedish government report published last year said that four in every million people die by gunshots each year in Sweden.
