A gunman has been arrested at Canberra airport in Australia after he started shooting inside the terminal.
Australian police said one person was arrested and a firearm was seized, stressing that no one was injured in the shooting.
The police were called after reports of shootings at the airport, and as a precaution, a part of the airport was blocked while the rest was evacuated.
The many planes that were around the airport have landed on the runways.
“Security cameras have been analyzed and one person has been arrested – believed to be the only person involved in the incident inside the airport,” Australian police said in a statement.
An armed person had started to shoot inside the airport, and according to witnesses, chaotic scenes are seen and the police arresting the attacker.
A witness said at least ten shots were fired, at which point all the civilians inside started running in all directions to escape the worst.
