The Turkish president holds talks with Putin and Zelensky.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin have discussed the situation in Ukraine and the transportation of grain.
The Kremlin has announced that the two leaders have presented their points of view, as well as coordinated “efforts to ensure that there will be safe export of wheat through the Black Sea”.
According to the office of the Turkish president, Erdogan emphasized that “it is time for the United Nations to act regarding the plans for securing the corridors through the Black Sea”.
The Turkish president also held a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, whom he assured that Turkey wants peace in Ukraine, and that it is working on the United Nations plan to export wheat to the international market.
According to Ukrainian officials, over 20 million tons of wheat have remained undistributed and are being stored in various warehouses in Ukraine, as a result of the blockade imposed by the Russians on various parts or ports in the Black Sea.
Otherwise, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has recently revealed the plan for the activation of nearly 1 million soldiers to liberate the regions controlled by the Russian army.
