San Francisco Zoo is sad over the death of their penguin.

The San Francisco Zoo is mourning the loss of its oldest Magellanic penguin.

Captain Eo, who took his name from a 1986 Michael Jackson short film that was a Disneyland attraction, died at the age of 40.

The elderly penguin had lost much of his sight and hearing and needed special feeding techniques, the zoo said.

Quinn Brown, the zoo’s assistant curator of birds, said Captain Eo had ‘the personality of a sophisticated old gentleman’.
