Is the Catalan giant Barcelona going bankrupt?
Barcelona are desperate to sign a €75m deal for Raphinha, but still owe almost double that to 19 different clubs.
The Catalan club published its annual financial report and revealed their outstanding debt in the region of €126 million.
The most significant sum of €30 million is owed to Liverpool for the record signing of Philippe Coutinho in 2018.
An amount of 18 million euros is owed to Ajax for Frenkie de Jong, while Bordeaux still expects 10 million euros for Malcom.
Real Betis owes 10 million euros for Junior Firpo, while Gremio still expects nine million euros for Arthur.
Eibar wants two million euros for the Blaugrana’s purchase option for Brighton star Marc Cucurella.
Villarreal, on the other hand, are still waiting €208,000 for Denis Suarez.
Valencia owes eight million euros for Netob, while Juventus expects six million euros for Matheus Pereira and seven million for Miralem Pjanic.
Bragas must pay 11 million euros for Trincao, Atletico Mineiros owes 8 million euros for Emerson and Real Valladolid is expecting 216,000 euros for Jose Arnaiz.
Las Palmas owes over two million euros for Pedro, Albacete expects 2.5 million for Rey Manaj and Palmeiras owes seven million for Matheus Fernandes.
Sao Paulo expect €35,000 for Emerson, Bayern Munich owe over €1 million for Arturo Vidal and Deportivo La Coruna want €70,000 for Chum.
Finally, Atletico Madrid is owed the sum of nine million euros from preferential rights.
However, Barcelona also owes €45m to other clubs, such as €10m from Zenit St Petersburg for Malcom, £10m from Getafe for Cucurella and €25m to Juventus for Arthur.
However, questions still arise over Barca’s ability to land big targets this summer as they hope to sign Raphinhan from Leeds, who will not budge from their asking price.
They are also chasing other big names such as Bayern superstar Robert Lewandowski as well as Chelsea duo Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso.
