Four dead after two planes collided at a Las Vegas airport.
Four people were killed Sunday when two small planes collided at an airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, officials said.
Two single-engine planes – each with two passengers – collided around noon at the Las Vegas airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
“Preliminary information indicates that the Piper PA-46 was preparing to land when it collided with the Cessna 172,” the FAA said in a statement.
“There were no survivors,” the Clark County Aviation Department said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are said to be investigating the cause of the crash.
Hours after the fatal incident, the airport remained open to air traffic with two runways closed into the evening to allow first responders and investigators to work at the scene, the aviation department said.
