The Briton who jumped into the river to escape the police dies.

A man in England who was attacked with a ‘Taser’ three times by police and fell into the River Thames from the Chelsea Bridge has died in hospital.

The whole incident happened when police were notified of a man armed with a screwdriver and was shouting at the scene shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

The Independent Police Conduct Office (IOPC), or police monitor, said the 40-year-old man had died in hospital and that an independent investigation was under way.

Footage posted on social media allegedly of the incident shows a man in a confrontation with police.

An officer shot him with the Taser and he falls to the ground before attempting to get up. He is then attacked for the second time and for the third time with Taser as he tries to get out of the way.

The man then gets to his feet, runs away from the officers and crosses an obstacle before falling into the river.

Rescue authorities tried to rescue the man and he was rushed to hospital, where he died.

Metropolitan Police confirmed that the man’s family has been informed of his death.
