Mercedes will withdraw 1 million cars from the market.
Mercedes-Benz is recalling nearly a million old cars from around the world because of potential problems with the brake booster, the company said on Saturday.
The ML, GL (BR 164) and R-Class (BR 251) series models produced between 2004 and 2015 are affected. About 70,000 of them are in Germany.
“We have found that in some of these vehicles, the function of the brake booster may be affected by advanced corrosion in the common cab area,” Mercedes-Benz said in a statement.
This could result in an increase in brake pedal force needed to slow down the vehicle and / or at a possible stopping distance, he added.
Mercedes-Benz is immediately starting the withdrawal.
