Drones play a key role in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The British Ministry of Defense published a new daily report from Ukraine, which states that the use of drones in the Russian-Ukrainian war is playing a key role for both sides.
“The Russian-Ukrainian war has made drones (UAVs) play a key role for both sides. “The drones have been proven vulnerable to both crashes and electronic interference,” the ministry announced.
The British claim that Russia tried to apply the concept of “reconnaissance strike”, which it perfected in Syria, and that uses reconnaissance drones to identify targets to be hit by fighter jets or artillery.
“Russia probably lacks the appropriate reconnaissance drones for this task, which is exacerbated by the limitations of its domestic production capacity as a result of sanctions,” the report said.
The ministry believes that Russian crews are largely continuing to avoid flights over Ukrainian territory, possibly due to the threat of Ukraine’s air defense missile systems.
“If Russia continues to lose drones at the current rate, the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities of Russian forces will be further degraded, which will negatively affect operational efficiency,” the report said.
