Ukraine says it has recaptured the city of Brovary.
Shops and businesses are reopening after Ukrainian officials said they had recaptured the city, which is about 20 kilometers east of the capital Kiev.
The mayor of Brovary said in a televised speech that “the Russian occupiers have now left almost the entire district of Brovary”, writes Sky News, reports Telegrafi.
Ukrainian forces are now removing the remaining Russian soldiers, as well as “military equipment and possibly mines,” he said.
This is the last area to be returned from Ukraine, as authorities also said they had recaptured areas around Kiev, including Bucha, Makariv and Borodyanka.
Ukrainian successes are continuing to drive Russians away from the capital Kiev.
