Two civilians killed in Luhansk, Ukraine

The governor of the eastern region of Ukraine, Luhansk, has said that two civilians were killed in an attack by the Russian army.

Two other people were injured in an attack in the town of Zolote.

Russian forces have stepped up their attacks in the east of the Ukrainian state and are aiming to take control of areas controlled by the Ukrainian army.

Parts of the eastern Donbas region – made up of Luhansk and Donetsk – are now controlled by pro-Russian separatists.

Otherwise, Russia is reportedly now targeting the eastern regions of Ukraine, while a Russian general has stated that the possibility of invading the Moldovan region, Transnistria, is not ruled out.

There have been many casualties among the civilians since Russia started to focus more on the east of Ukraine.
