The Kremlin is not at war with NATO.

Russia does not consider itself at war with NATO over Ukraine, said Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“Unfortunately, NATO seems to consider itself at war with Russia,” Lavrov said as the war in Ukraine enters its ninth week.

“The leaders of NATO and the European Union, many of them, in England, in the United States, in Poland, in France, in Germany, and of course the European Union chief diplomat, Josep Borrell, they bluntly say, publicly and consistently, “Putin must fail, Russia must be defeated”.

“When you use this terminology, I believe you think you are at war with the person you want to defeat.”

Lavrov also accused Kiev of changing its position under what he called the US and Britain, and claimed that talks with Ukraine had stalled because of “Kiev’s desire to play games constantly.”
