The EU promises one billion euros for Ukraine.
The European Union has pledged 1 billion euros to support Ukraine and countries accepting refugees fleeing war, Ursula von der Leyen has confirmed.
“Six hundred million of them will go to Ukraine, to the Ukrainian authorities and partly to the United Nations,” Von der Leyen said at a fundraising event for Ukraine in Warsaw.
“And 400 million euros will go to the front line countries that are doing such an extraordinary job and are helping the refugees who are coming,” she added.
The President of the EU Commission has just returned from Ukraine where she visited Bucha, where many crimes have been committed.
The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer are also visiting Kiev today.
