Poll: Biden is not rough enough with Russia.
Many Americans continue to question whether President Joe Biden has been harsh enough in his response to Russia’s war in Ukraine. Most, however, support the steps the United States is taking on the issue, while a smaller number want American troops involved in the conflict.
According to a poll, 54% of Americans think that President Biden has not been harsh enough in his response to the Russian attack on Ukraine. Thirty-six percent (36%) think his approach has been fair, while 8 percent say he has been very harsh.
But as the war goes on, Americans’ desire to get involved has waned somewhat. Thirty-two percent of Americans say the United States should play a major role in the conflict. This marks a decrease from the 40% who thought this way last month, but remains slightly higher than the 26% who thought so in February. Meanwhile 49% of Americans say the US should have a small role in the conflict.
The White House has authorized more than $ 2 billion in arms aid to Ukraine and led Western sanctions that have severely damaged the Russian economy. President Biden has ruled out sending American troops there, a decision backed by a majority of Americans.
