Poland sanctions Gazprom and oligarchs.

Poland has placed 50 Russian entities on the first list of sanctions, including the names of oligarchs and businesses, such as Gazprom.

The news was announced by the Minister of Interior, Mariusz Kaminski, asking for increased pressure on Moscow after its aggression in Ukraine.

The list includes billionaire Mikhail Fridman, aluminum tycoon Oleg Deripaska, founder of Russian cybersecurity company Kaspersky, Eugene Kaspersky.

“This is the first list of sanctions. There are 50 names, there are oligarchs and companies doing business in Poland. “It is likely, almost certain, that this list will expand,” Kaminski said.

Sanctions include freezing assets and banning entry into Poland.

Poland has repeatedly argued for tougher sanctions against Russia and has previously said it would impose an embargo on coal imports by May and ban the use of Russian oil by the end of 2022.
