Germany helps Ukraine with over one billion Euros.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz allocated an additional two billion euros in military aid. Of this, only for Ukraine – significantly more than a billion euros.
Pressure on the chancellor and the German government to provide more military aid to Ukraine has increased in recent days by politicians in the ruling coalition.
Now Scholz has reacted by announcing that he has allocated a total of two billion extra euros – of which significantly more than one billion euros will go directly to Ukraine.
Ukrainians can also use that money to buy the weapons they want – in consultation with the United States and other partners.
If they buy weapons from Germany, the export must be approved by the Federal Minister of Economy, Robert Habeck. 400 million euros from the package are intended for the European Peace Agency, which buys weapons for Ukraine. The remaining 400 million euros are for other countries.
