Elon Musk offers $ 41.3 billion to buy Twitter.
US billionaire Elon Musk has offered $ 41.39 billion to buy the social network Twitter.
The CEO of Tesla, offered a price of 54.20 dollars per share, which is 38 percent higher than the market price of Twitter on April 1 – a day before announcing that he owns 9 percent of the shares in Twitter.
“I have invested in Twitter because I believe in the potential that it can be a platform where free speech is respected around the globe, and I believe that free speech is essential to the functioning of democracy,” Musk said in a Twitter post.
“Ever since I made my investment, I now understand that this company will not respect freedom of speech in this format that it is now. “Twitter needs to be transformed into a private company.”
But it is interesting how such an action by Musk comes at a time when the American billionaire was offered the seat on the company board but that he refused.
Musk currently owns 63,486,938 shares in Twitter, currently worth $ 3.7 billion.
