Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has published a new video on social networks, in which he addressed the Ukrainian people.
Zelensky said the Russian military had suffered the heaviest defeat in decades – claiming that the tactical groups of the 31st Russian Army Battalion were now incapable of fighting.
He has demanded the immediate release of the Melitopol mayor, who was reportedly abducted by Russian forces last night – saying he had discussed the matter with the German and French leaders.
The Ukrainian president has announced that Ukraine is working with the European Commission on an accelerated procedure for EU membership.
