Ukraine is regaining territory in the Kyiv region.
Ukrainian forces are again taking territory from Russian forces in Irpin, Kyiv and the Kyiv region, said a commander of the Ukrainian army.
According to media reports, Oleksandr Syrskyi said that almost 95 percent of Irpin – a city near Kyiv – was again under Ukrainian control.
Irpin has been a hot spot for fighting with Russian troops and has suffered intense airstrikes.
“The territory controlled by us is much larger than it was at the beginning of the aggression. “It is not only Kyiv and the Kyiv region, we are now on the administrative borders of the Chernihiv and Zhytomyr regions,” said Syrskyi.
However, he called for the West to provide more weapons to Ukraine.
“We are using thousands of missiles every day and we obviously need help with the resupply of air defense systems, anti-tank systems, artillery resonance devices and much more,” he said.
