There are indications that Putin is isolating himself .
U.S. President Joe Biden said that there are some indications that Russian President Vladimir Putin is isolating and punishing some of his advisers, but added that the U.S. does not have much solid evidence to say this for sure.
When asked how badly the Russian president is being misinformed by his advisers, Biden replied: “There is a lot of speculation, but he seems – I am not saying for sure – he seems to be isolated and there are some indications that he has fired or placed under house arrest some of his advisers.
U.S. government officials have expressed confidence this week in an intelligence assessment that “Putin is being misinformed by military advisers about the success of the Russian military’s performance during the war, which has lasted more than a month.”
Biden also noted that he was “skeptical” that Putin would withdraw all his forces from the district of the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.
“So far there is no clear evidence that he is withdrawing all his forces from Kiev,” Biden said. “There is also evidence that he is increasing his troops in the Donbas area.”
