Summer tire prices are rising.

The impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine will be felt by all consumers, and the same goes for drivers.

Spare parts prices have risen, and now there is a big rise in vehicle tire prices.

The new generation of summer tires has already increased by an average of ten per cent compared to last year, and before the massive summer tire purchase season in April, another increase is announced, so tires could be between 15 and 20 percent more expensive than last season.

The reasons for the price increase are numerous, in addition to the prices of raw materials that have increased as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as increased energy and transportation costs.

Rubber prices have risen and the carbon dust needed to produce tires comes mainly from Russia (about a third), which could be a new source of problems, ie rising prices.

Also, tire factories for northern Europe are stationed in Russia, which are on the rise due to sanctions. Because of this, production is redirected to factories that supplied Central and Southern Europe, and capacities are limited, so it is debatable what will happen to the supply.
