Russia must leave the G20.
US President Joe Biden said on Thursday that he believes Russia should leave the G20.
The head of the US state made these comments after holding an extraordinary NATO summit in Brussels.
“My answer is yes,” Biden told a news conference when asked if Russia should leave.
“It depends on the G20. “This was raised today and I raised the possibility that if this could not be done – if Indonesia and others do not agree – then, in my opinion, we should ask Ukraine to be able to attend the meetings as an observer.”
The White House had previously refused to publicly weigh in on relations between the US and its allies about the possibility of Russia leaving the group, but left the possibility open.
Meanwhile, the Russian ambassador to Jakarta said on Wednesday that President Vladimir Putin “wants to go” to the G20 summit in Indonesia, which will be held in November.
