More than 10,000 refugees from Ukraine are now arriving in Berlin every day. Not all refugees are being registered. The willingness of the Berliners to help is absolute, no matter whether security forces or helpers who simply distribute a warm drink at these temperatures to the refugees.
Since Berlin can not take all refugees and also the housing capacity is limited many refugees are distributed in other federal states in admission stations.
The willingness to donate for the refugees is great. Hygiene articles for women and children, as well as medicines and other necessities of living are needed.
In the numerous donation facilities items are sorted, some of it is delivered directly to Ukraine, however, it is also being delivered to various bases on the Polish border and also in Berlin, where most of the refugees arrive in Germany.
Most of the refugees are women and underage children since the men are not allowed to leave Ukraine because of the war. The mobilization and the associated travel ban for Ukrainian men was relased on February 24 in Ukraine and that is why many men are being sent back at the borders so that you do not leave the country.
The non-bureaucratic acceptance of the refugees has become possible in for the first time in Germany. Even if refugees were partly rejected at the borders to Poland because of a different skin color for which the border guards were strongly criticized, the flow of refugees so far has been mostly free of disturbances.
It is the largest refugee movement in Europe since the 2nd World War. And higher numbers of refugees are being reported day by day.
